Get to know us

Hello! My name is Maria Manghiuc, and I am the owner and the administrator of Foothills Senior Care. To ay that I am excited about finally owning my own senior care facility would be a tremendous understatement. Foothills Senior Care is an answer to prayers and a dream come true.
I am a first-generation immigrant from Romania who loves taking care of people, especially the elderly. Caregiving has always been part of my life. My first job in the USA was as a nanny, taking care of children for several different families. Later on, in 2007, I started working as a personal caregiver for an elderly client, and in 2010, I started working as an administrator for an assisted living facility in Elk Grove and fell in love with this line of work. During the ten years in Elk Grove, I was blessed to work with wonderful staff and care for some truly special residents and their families. I have grown to really love what I was doing, and I decided that I wanted to stay in this line of work.

While managing the elderly care facility in Elk Grove, I was also pursuing a nursing degree. It was a great accomplishment to obtain my Registered Nurse license in 2014 and my BSN in August 2018.
In 2019 my husband and I decided that it was time to start the process of opening our own senior care facility, and in June 2020 Foothills Senior Care came to life.
I believe that the best approach to care is “to care,” to treat each resident with dignity and compassion by personalizing the care delivery model to each resident’s unique needs.
On a personal note, my husband and I have been married since 2008, and we have four children. I am an active member in our local church. Some of my hobbies include baking, traveling, playing board games, and entertaining. I love to laugh and be surrounded by people. I pour myself into everything I do, and I am a strong believer in a job well done.
